Treasure in the net

Badinotti is the first producer of knotless netting for fishing. With the introduction of raschel knitting technology, this product was launched in 1962.

With this technology, knot slippage is avoided and net shape remains unvaried. Over the course of half a century, Badinotti had been instrumental in making raschel knit netting the number 1 choice for trawl fishing in the Mediterranean.

Along with knotless netting we also offer twisted or braided knotted netting for fishing anchovies, herring, capelin and tuna.

Recognizing the constant need for improvement, Badinotti always invests in new technologies. Since their inception, the company and its subsidiaries in Peru and Chile have become global leaders in the manufacture of netting for commercial fishing applications.

In recent years, knotless netting has become the primary choice of netting for aquaculture companies. Today, raschel looms produce almost all of the aquaculture netting used around the world.

Badinotti offers a wide range of products designed to meet specific customer requirements and has become a world leader of producing netting for finfish aquaculture. Badinotti S.p.A. has been a valuable supplier to the aquaculture industry for many years, in countries such as Canada, Scotland, Chile, Norway and Australia. In Australia the company successfully supplied netting into the tuna farming industry for many years.

Optimal ratios for break strength; durability and weight are the basic characteristics needed when seeking a good quality net. To achieve desired results, we choose to utilize the latest fibers and looms on the market. Depending on application, Nylon together with polyester is used in the production of netting. This combination yields greater resistance to ultra-violet rays and abrasion. It also offers low water absorption, which makes the product lighter and more manageable during maintenance and washing.

As a leader in producing netting, Badinotti was the first in 1996 to introduce netting made with Dyneema fibers. This high-density polyethylene fiber is the most resistant in the world and is characterized by remarkable low weight and volume. Badinotti to date is among a very few companies who manage to produce raschel knit netting with Dyneema fibers.

Aside from the "four needle" knitting invented by Badinotti in 1963, the company also produces the German "super knot", which is obtainable only with the latest generation of looms. This type of production process virtually eliminates the problem of unraveling in case of net rupture or tearing.
